“To enter, to begin and to blossom” are the three meanings of the Latin word “INEO”, chosen by the quartet for its name.

The Ineo Quartet has a long and exciting history, despite its new formation. Both violinists of the quartet are founding members of Selini quartet, which, after seven successful years, dissolved in the year 2022. The violinists, however, decided to continue playing the quartet and could present the re-founded group early 2023 under the name „Ineo“ with 2 new members.

The years as Selini Quartet brought them many prizes at international competitions, such as "Prague Spring International Music Competition", "Ysaye International Music Competition", "Szymanowski International Music Competition" and appearances at festivals, such as Salzburger Festspiele and Grafenegg Festival in Austria, Gent Festival van Vlaanderen in Belgium, Ickinger Frühling in Germany, Nafplion Festival in Greece, at the Festspillene Helgeland in Norway and more.

The quartet appeared in concerts around the world, representing Austria’s musical scene. From 2019 the quartet was also a part of ECMA - European Chamber Music Academy, where the ensembles are supervised by some of the world's leading chamber music specialists and given the opportunity to perform at major concert halls and festivals in Europe.

The Ineo Quartet appeared in Austria, at Viennese venues such as Wiener Musikverein, Beethoven Museum, Museums Quartier and during concert series "Echo des Unerhörten" (echo of the unheard) in Ehrbarsaal, as well as at "St. Gallen Festival" and “Styrian Chamber Music Festival” in Graz.

Internationally, the Ineo Quartet has made its debut in Paris (France), performing at Conservatoire national des arts. They have also been invited to perform at Festivals such as "Musical meetings in Seine-et-Marne" in Melun (France), "Trame Sonore" in Mantova (Italy) and "Sion Festival" (Switzerland), where they had the chance to perform together with artists like Pablo Barragan (clarinetist), Reinhard Latzko (cellist) and Lena Belkina (mezzo soprano).

In summer 2024 the quartet recorded a CD, which includes a string quartet by Austrian contemporary Richard Dünser, dedicated to them.

The quartet is a member of the Chamber Music Associations Le Dimore del Quartetto and ProQuartet.

Since their formation, they have been working under the guidance of Johannes Meissl (Artis Quartet) at University of Music and Performing arts Vienna and since 2024 the quartet studies with Gunter Pichler (Alban Berg Quartet) at Chamber Music Institute of the Escuela Superior de Música Reina Sofía Madrid. They were also inspired by musicians such as Alfred Brendel, Quatuor Diotima, Tim Frederiksen, Francois Kieffer (Quatuor Modigliani).

Future projects include a concert during ECMS (Ehrbar chamber music society) concert series in Vienna, as well as Richard Dünser's CD presentation at Arnold Schönberg center.
