Patrizia Batik

Patrizia Batik is an Austrian violist whose work moves between different stylistic worlds. With curiosity and openness, she explores new concert formats and conventions within the field of classical music. Versatility, communication, and a strong awareness of sound shape her musical expression.

She began her musical education in 2016 at the Music and Arts University of the City of Vienna (MUK), where she studied with Herbert Müller and Jennifer Stumm. Through the Erasmus programme, she was able to complete part of her studies at the Royal Danish Academy of Music. She further deepened her interest in historically informed performance practice in the class of Ulrike Engel.

She gained orchestral experience, among others, as a member of the Schleswig-Holstein Festival Orchestra. She was a scholarship holder of the Paul Hindemith Orchestra Academy of the Frankfurt Opera and Museum Orchestra (Oper Frankfurt). During the 2024/25 season, she was engaged there on a temporary contract as a tutti violist.

In addition, Patrizia Batik regularly performs as a guest musician with renowned ensembles and orchestras, including the Concentus Musicus Wien, the ORF Radio Symphony Orchestra Vienna, and the Vienna State Opera Stage Orchestra.

As a chamber musician, she performs in a variety of ensembles. An especially important part of her work is her role in coordination and artistic assistance within the string ensemble inn.wien, where the members collectively realise their artistic visions. In 2026 she joined the string quartet Ineo Quartet.
